Urbano Cuevas Jr., 79, of Kingsville, TX, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, in Corpus Christi, TX.

He was born on February 9, 1945, in Three Rivers, TX, to Urbano and Maria Cuevas. Urbano's life was characterized by his dedication to his family, faith, and country.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Urbano served his nation with honor and distinction. After his military service, he found a fulfilling career as an oilfield permit agent with Western Geophysical Energy Company, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement.

Urbano was a devout member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, where his strong faith was evident to all who knew him. He cherished the time spent with his loved ones and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His generous spirit and unwavering support were a testament to his deep love for his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his half-sisters, Norma Cuevas and Carolina Cuevas, and his half-brother, Erasmo Cuevas.

Urbano's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 52 years, Elida Cuevas of Kingsville; his daughter, Linda (Jon) Gunnels of Kingsville; his son, Alessandro (Sherri) Cuevas of Copperas Cove; his sister, Victoria Cuellar of George West; his grandchildren, Devon, Dylan, Joshua, and Caleb; his great-granddaughter, Iris; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, officiated by Father Charles Silvas. Military Honors will be rendered immediately following the Mass.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.

Urbano Cuevas Jr.'s legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
