Obituary

Urbana (Vana) C. Garcia, 77, of Kingsville, Texas passed away surrounded by family on August 31, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.

Vana was a retired civil service employee with NAS Kingsville for more than 20 years and a member of Saint Martin's Catholic Church. She was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Vana had a deep passion for family, church, and education. She loved cooking and baking with her children and grandchildren sharing family recipes for tamales and pan de polvo.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Manuel Garcia Jr. They enjoyed their time together with family, travel, and sitting on their front porch.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Angela (Juan) Belmarez; 3 sons, Manuel (Delma) Garcia III, Dr. Anselmo (Laura) Garcia, and Cpt. Roger (Deanita) Garcia; 7 grandchildren, Elena, Magdalena, Maya, Joshua, Josiah, Olivia, and Emmanuel; 2 sisters, Diana Solis and Yolanda Clay, and one brother, Oscar Coronel. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Amador, Felipe, Pedro, and Jose Luis; and 1 sister Maria Carmen.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78251. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
