San Juana "Janie" Ortega, 78, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Bishop, TX.
She was born on May 19, 1935 in Bishop, TX to Donaciano and Paula Gonzalez.
She was a retired Nurse's Aide and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was also a homecare provider in Bishop and Kingsville.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Jesus M. Ortega and Jesus R. Chapa.
Survivors include two sons, Alberto (Janette) Ortega of Kingsville, and Mike (Sylvia) Ortega of Houston; two daughters, Sylvia (Joe) Trejo of Alice, and Maria Magdalena Morales of Bishop; four sisters, Maria Herrera of Bishop, Germana Contreras of Bishop, Amelia Canales of Bishop, and Janie Garcia of Bishop; one brother, Donaciano Gonzalez Jr. of Bishop; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thurs., 3-6-2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Thurs., 3-6-2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Fri., 3-7-2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Richard Koziel officiating.
Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
