Samuel Gonzales Jr., 81, a cherished resident of Bishop, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on February 14, 1943, in Goliad, Texas, Samuel was the son of the late Samuel Gonzales and Micaela (Pablo) Carrillo.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Samuel was a retired self-employed truck driver. His unwavering Christian faith and profound belief in God were cornerstones of his life. Samuel was a man of many talents, known for his love of singing and appreciation for all genres of music. His joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored.
Samuel was preceded in death by his brother, Ruben Gonzales of Beeville, TX.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Juanita G. Gonzales of Bishop; his loving children, son Samuel (Rachel) Gonzales III of Corpus Christi, and daughters Ida (Abel) Cruz of Bishop, Norma (Peter Clarke) Gonzales of Bishop, Gloria (Danny) G. Hinojosa of Bishop, and Joy Saenz-Perez (Luis) of Driscoll. He is also survived by his brother, Oscar Carrillo of Pettus, TX; nineteen cherished grandchildren; fifteen beloved great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him fondly.
Samuel's life was a testament to his faith, love, and dedication to family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Religous Service to honor Samuel's life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.at Emmanuel Christian Church in Kingsville, Texas.
