Rosa Tamez Garcia, 75, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Kingsville.

She was born on February 16, 1951, in Bay City, Texas, to Raynaldo and Emma Tamez. Rosa dedicated many years of her life to education as a teacher with Kingsville Independent School District before her retirement. She was a faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.

Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Severo Garcia; her son, Severo "Sam" Garcia; her brother, Alfredo Tamez; and her sister, Gloria Tamez.

She is survived by her loving son, Alfredo Garcia and his wife, Pricilla, of Kingsville; her cherished grandchildren, Ernesto Mejia Jr., Israel Mejia, Joseph Robert Obregon, Alfredo Garcia Jr., Jose Luis Garcia, Severo Sam Garcia; her sister, Gracie Tamez; her brothers, Raynaldo Tamez Jr. and Roy Tamez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
