Romeo Barrera Jr., 67, a resident of Kingsville, TX died on March 31, 2024, in Kingsville, TX.
He was born on January 11, 1957, in Kingsville, Texas to Romeo and Zoila Barrera.
He was a retired Pastor of 33 years and the founder of Jesus Is Alive Church in Kingsville, Texas. He had a passion for the Presence of God and led many people to the Lord. Pastor Romeo took to heart the scripture, "Feed my sheep." He did so not only through spiritual nourishment, but also through his gift of ushering in the Presence of God through Worship. He was known for his unwavering faith and encouraging words. Today, we celebrate a life well-lived, a race well-run, and a faith well-kept.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Rick Barrera.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Debbie Barrera of Kingsville; three sons, Romeo (Brenda) Barrera III, John (Vilma) Barrera, and Andrew J. Barrera; two daughters, Priscilla (Carlos) Cruz, and Leanna (Jesse) Richardson; one brother, David (Elma) Villarreal; one sister, Cindy Ottis; eleven grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Kings Way Family Church at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Gamez officiating.
