Roel G. Velasquez, 66, of Kingsville, TX passed away January 10, 2016 in Corpus Christi, TX.
He was born on August 1, 1949 in Kingsville, TX to Melquiades and Carmen Velasquez.
He was retired Postal Carrier (U.S.P.), and a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran. He was a former Union Stuart of U.S.P.D. Kingsville. Mr. Velasquez was a past Youth Coach for many years. He was also formerly employed with South Western Bell and N.A.S. Kingsville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Adriana Velasquez.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Esther E. Velasquez of Kingsville; one son, Roel (Jennifer) Velasquez Jr. of Kingsville; two daughters, Criselda Perez, Ester (Cipriano) Garcia both of Kingsville; four brothers, Mike (Elma) Velasquez of Kingsville, Rene (Tonya) Velasquez of Bishop, Pantaleon (Maricela) Velasquez of Corpus Christi, Rolando Velasquez of Kingsville; three sisters, Cristina Briseno, Rachael (Gregorio) Guajardo of Bishop, Aida Ambriz of Bishop; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Dylan, Jasmine, Araya, Heidi, Jayla, Roel "Tres" Velasquez III, Gabriela, and M.J.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 01-12-2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, 01-12-2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, 01-13-2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Naul Ordonez officiating. A cremation will follow with a private burial at a later date.
