Rene C. Zapata, 72, passed away on November 26, 2020 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born on March 25, 1948 to Alfredo F. and Lilia C. Zapata in Kingsville, TX. He was raised in Kingsville, TX and attended the local schools in Kingsville. Rene volunteered to serve in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era, and proudly served his country. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Olga Zapata; and two brothers, Daniel Zapata and Ricardo Zapata. Rene is survived by one sister, Yolanda Zapata of Kingsville; three brothers, Alfredo (Norma) Zapata Jr. of Corpus Christi, Abel (Diana) Zapata of Kingsville, and Ruben Zapata of Corpus Christi; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted by Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home of Kingsville, TX. Visitation will be held on Saturday, 12-05-2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, 12-05-2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 12-05-2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Father Paulson Panakal officiating. Burial will follow at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery in Kingsville, TX with full military honors.
