Rebecca Gomez Vela, 62 of Kingsville, TX passed away on March 10, 2017 in Kingsville, TX.
She was born on August 7, 1954 in Kingsville, TX to Jesus and Diomira Gomez.
She was a retired Homemaker and a 1998 graduate of Texas A&I University, with a Master's Degree in Psychology and Sociology. She was a lifetime member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church and an active volunteer in various organizations in Kingsville area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Diomira Gomez.
Survivors include two daughters, Vanessa M. Vela and Yvette V. Vela of Kingsville; one son, Hilario G Vela Jr. of Kingsville; five sisters, Ruth (Edmundo) Perez of Alice, TX, Judith (Juan) Ortiz of Hondo, TX, Rachel Gomez of Bellevue, Washington, Martha G. De La Garza and Diomira "Dydee" Gomez of Kingsville; six brothers, Jesus A. (Elvia) Gomez, Javier O. Gomez, Andy Gomez, Ralph Gomez, Rudy Gomez, and Roger Gomez, all of Kingsville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tues., 03-14-2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Religious Service will be held on Tues., 03-14-2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wed., 03-15-2017 at 10:00 a.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church 416 N. 9th St., with Pastor Javier Canales officiating.
A Cremation will follow with a private Graveside Service at a later date.
