He was preceded in death by his son Raul Mora Jr; parents, Guillermo and Hortencia Mora; his twin brother, Rene Mora and his loving sister, Raquel (Rachel) Moya.
Raul is survived by his loving family: his devoted wife Esther Mora of 63 years; two sons, Patrick (Terri) Mora, Raul (Melissa) Mora III; one daughter, Linda (George) Harper; five grandchildren, Veronica (Brian) Secrist, Patrick (Madi) Mora, Jake (Taylor) Matcheski, Chance (Kasey) Matcheski, and Tyler (Julia) Mora; seven great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Bailey, Stone, Collins, James, Tyler Jr and Colson; three brothers, Guillermo (Gracie) Mora Jr., Ruben Mora Sr.; David Mora Sr.; two sisters, Guadalupe Flores and Elvira (Ociel) Suarez as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
Raul was a devoted husband, father, and nano. His quick wit and gift for making people laugh left those around him smiling and was known to give nicknames to so many in the family. Some of his happiest moments were the simplest—surrounded by those he loved most, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Raul lived a life marked by hard work, entrepreneurship, and a deep commitment to providing for his family. He began his career at 16 years old as a chef and later co-owned Dynamic Enterprise Inc., helping recruit staff for Naval Base mess halls across the United States. He continued his entrepreneurial journey as co-owner of R&R Tortilla Factory in West Columbia, owner of Nano's Candy Store in Kingsville, Security officer in Columbia Lakes and co-owner of E&R Lawncare in West Columbia.
Through every chapter of his life, Raul was a pillar, a provider, and a man of vision. He took pride in his work and found purpose in all he accomplished, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance, dedication, and love for his family.
One of the many things his family will remember is his love for representing "H-Town," often seen wearing his favorite team shirts and caps. In honor of his memory, the family invites you to join them by wearing an Astros shirt at the funeral service —a simple yet meaningful way to celebrate Raul's life and keep his spirit close to our hearts.
