Rafael M. Salinas Jr., 85, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on July 21, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas.
He was born on November 4, 1934 in Kingsville, TX.
Mr. Salinas was born and raised in Kingsville, TX and was an H.M. King Graduate. He was a retired Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and a Vietnam War Veteran stationed in Thailand. During his military career, he was also stationed in Upper Heyford, England, Burtonwood, England, Olathe, Kansas, Key West, Florida, Panama City, Florida, and then back to Lakenheath, England. In 1981, he earned an Associate's Degree in Computer Science. After his retirement in England, he was employed at Marlows Timber Yard in Bury St. Edmunds for several years.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Aurora Harper, Alma Mendieta, Estella S. Flores, and Noemi S. Lopez; two brothers, Daniel Salinas Sr., and Manuel M. Salinas Sr.
Survivors include one daughter Anita Noemi (Brian) Nightingale of Lake Havasu, AZ; two sons, Daryl Ben (Jeanette) Salinas of Bury St. Edmunds, UK, and David Wayne Salinas of Valverde, CA; two sisters, Margaret S. (Pete) Saenz, and Elizabeth S. (Joe) Sias; two brothers, David Salinas Sr. and Roberto Ben (Naida) Salinas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Mon., 07-27-2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Mon., 07-27-2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home with Pastor Servando Torres officiating.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
