Obituary

Rachel Yanez Granato, age 95, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, in Kingsville, Texas.

Born on August 20, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas, Rachel was the daughter of Ynez and Dolores Yanez.

Rachel was a devoted homemaker and a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church. She loved to read and found comfort in reading her prayer books and joy in spending time working in her rose garden. She also had a special love for hummingbirds and enjoyed watching them in her yard. Above all, Rachel cherished her family and took great pride in caring for those she loved. She had a special love for her grandchildren, but her great-grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart. Her love, care, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ynez and Dolores Yanez; four brothers, Ynez Yanez Jr., Clarence Yanez Sr., Prospero Yanez, and Horace P. Yanez; three sisters, Rebecca Rodriguez, Lumina Guzman, and Aurora Gallardo.

Survivors include one son, Joe (Darlene) Granato of Georgia; two daughters, Liza Farrell from Wichita Falls, and Rachel Lynn Buentello of Kingsville; seven grandchildren, Bambi (Robert) Hartt, Armando “AJ” Buentello Jr., Kami (Brad) Vidaurri, Christopher (Angelica) Farrell, Devin (Kym) Granato, Cody Farrell, Jewel Aleah Buentello; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Vidaurri, Allyson Jaelynn Buentello, Ayden Martinez Farrell, Venus Buentello, Aria Vidaurri, Mars Buentello, Sophia Farrell, Audrey Granato, Joslyn Granato, Robert Bellman, Elizabeth Hoien, Heather Sullivan, Nikolas Perez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
