On August 28, 2023, Porfirio "Pete" Lopez, was called home to be with the lord. Pete was a loving husband to his wife of 43 years, a great father, an amazing grandfather, and friend. He was born on November 12, 1962 to his late parents Johnny and Estella Lopez in Kingsville, Texas. Pete was an active Knight of Columbus at the St. James Catholic Church, Badger fan, Bishop Resident of 60 years, and a friend that never failed to lend a helping hand. Pete played a role in the lives of many young men and women. He was always chit chatting with young men and helping them learn new crafts, or guiding them into jobs that have been life changing. He was an amazing man and played a huge role in the lives of many of his softball players, that he considered and treated as daughters of his own for his lifetime. Everyone knew they could count on him to be there for them and he wouldn't hesitate to tell you the truth you needed to hear.
Pete Lopez had a heart so big he loved his daughters dearly. His daughters were his world but his grandkids were his greatest blessing. He had a love like no other and it was no secret how much he loved his girls. He was their biggest fan, their rock, their provider. He would travel the world to be in the stands, work over time to ensure they had it all and more. He was a family man and would quickly turn friends into family too.
Porfirio proceeds in the passing of his Father (Johnny Lopez), Mother (Estella Lopez), Sister (Elifonsa Soliz) and Daughter (Elizabeth Lopez).
