Petra Rodriguez, age 79, of Bishop, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2026, in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1946, in Runge, Texas, to Pablo and Simona Rodriguez.

She was a retired homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic Church. Petra was an avid baker who loved baking for her family and friends. Petra was an avid baker who loved baking for her family and friends. She especially loved her cats, whom she lovingly considered her fur babies, and enjoyed spending time caring for them.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Erasmo Rodriguez and Domingo Rodriguez; five sisters, Isabela Rodriguez, Martina Rodriguez, Teodora Dominguez, Teresa Ramirez, and Inocencia Lopez; and two cousins, George Rodriguez, and Leonard Lopez.

Survivors include her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you is extended to her niece, Olga Garcia; nephews, Albert Garcia and Omar Garcia; and cousins, Imelda Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Ramona Lopez, and Ricardo Lopez for their special love and care.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Francis Sebastian officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
