Modesta "Margie" Garcia Herrera, age 83, of Bishop, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Bishop. She was born on February 24, 1942, in Runge, Texas, to Anselmo and Josefa Garcia.

Margie was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of Gethsemane Pentecostal Church of Bishop. A woman of strong faith and a joyful spirit, she found great happiness in spending time with her family and friends. Margie especially loved dancing to country music, sharing laughter, and creating cherished memories with those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Amelia Ortega and Delia Salazar; and her brothers, Jose Garcia, Rito Garcia, and Anselmo Garcia Jr.

Margie is survived by her son, Julian Herrera Jr.; three daughters, Corina (Todd) Plocek of Lewisville, Texas, Patricia (Roland) H. Villela of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Aida Herrera of Lewisville, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren — Joann, Jolyn, Brittney, Sabrina, Raymond, Megan, Julian, Geneva, and Jillian — twenty-nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home with Reverend Ruben Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Evangelico Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.

Margie will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, faith, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
