MGySgt Manuel Tijerina Jr., 92, formerly of Kingsville, Texas passed away September 22, 2021, in Henderson, Nevada.
He was born on September 13, 1929.
He was a U.S. Marine Korean and Vietnam Veteran. He spent 27 years in active duty and 3 years in Reserve.
He is preceded in death by one son, Gene Tijerina.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen Tijerina; one son, Tony Tijerina; five daughters, Paula Quinones, Kathy Ashdown, Rhonda Osburn, Gail Sylvia, and Anna (John) Worley; two brothers, Humberto Tijerina, and Ramon Tijerina; four sisters, Amparo T. Montoya, Grace T. Delgado, Romana T. Gonzalez, and Rosa T. Granato; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery with complete military honors rendered by Kleberg County Funeral Detail.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
