Obituary

Martina Mendoza Perez, 89, a beloved Mother, Sister, and Grandmother gained her wings to be with the Lord on June 24, 2024, in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Harlingen, Texas on November 10, 1934, to Guadalupe and Petra Mendoza. She was one of fourteen children. After the passing away of her grandfather, the family relocated to Kingsville, Texas where she spent the remainder of her years.
A retired Housekeeper, she was a loving and devoted mother dedicating her life to taking care of children. She stood as a symbol of being a strong independent mother. Going through hardships in life with the love and support of her family, she represented what a mother and grandmother was. She took special joy in creating memories with her family, kids and grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed social activities, such as playing Loteria with her family and friends.
She was also an active member of Keepers of the Lighthouse Ministries, where she found joy in praising and singing to the Lord. Instilling Christian values into her kids and grandchildren, she took solace in knowing the Lord was always with them. She had a spirit ignited with joy that filled the room with her presence. Having some of the most powerful prayers, she was always willing to pray for anyone. A gift will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Teri Gutierrez and her son, Adan Perez Jr.
She is survived by her loving children: Daughters, Diana Perez and Esther Perez, both of Kingsville; Sons, Lupe (Elda) Perez and Ruben (Tina) Perez. She is also survived by her sister, Marcela Mejia of Corpus Christi and her brother, Rev. Antonio Mendoza of Houston, Texas. Martina leaves behind thirteen cherished grandchildren: Bonifacio, David, Monica, Ricky, Jason, Priscilla, Daniel, Adrian, Michael, Israel, Ismael, Pete, and Norma, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
