Mario I. Pena, a beloved member of the Riviera, Texas community, passed away on May 7, 2024, in Kingsville, Texas, at the age of 65.

Born on April 25, 1959, in Riviera, Texas, Mario was the son of the late Andres G. Pena and Rebecca Castillo Pena. He grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and the rich cultural heritage of his hometown.

Mario dedicated many years of his life to his work, finding fulfillment as both an oilfield worker and a farmer. Renowned for his mechanical work, he had a knack for fixing things and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Music was another passion that brought joy to Mario's life, and he could often be found enjoying his favorite tunes.

Among his many loves, Mario cherished his dogs, finding comfort and companionship in their loyal presence. However, his greatest source of happiness was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, creating precious memories that will forever be cherished.

Mario is preceded in death by his three brothers, Andres G. Pena, Silvestre Pena, and Daniel Pena, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Monica M. Pena of Kingsville; three devoted sons, Wyatt (Renee) Pena of Conroe, Trevor (Alysha) Pena, and Ronnie Olivarez, both of Kingsville; and his seven adoring grandchildren, Arina, Aryton, Aris, Melissa, Jolene, Athena, and Darlene. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Enedina Pena, Eliza Vela, and Amanda Nino; and brother-in-law, John Martinez; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation to honor Mario's life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Religious Service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Aguilar officiating.
