Maria Elena R. Cortez, 79, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away October 19, 2014 in Kingsville, Texas.
She was born on December 29, 1934 in Falfurrias, TX to Refugio and Benita Rodriguez.
She was a retired homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul Cortez.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia (Juan) Castillo of Kingsville, Amelia (Jorge) Gomez of Houston, Norma (Hector) Castro of Houston, and Carmen (Ernesto) Lopez of Houston; two sons, Raul Cortez Jr. of Kingsville, and Reymundo Cortez of Houston; one sister, Endelia Rodriguez of Kingsville; one brother, Jesus (Raquel) Rodriguez of Kingsville; seventeen grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wed., 10-22-2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Wed., 10-22-2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thurs., 10-23-2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church with Father Naul Ordonez officiating.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
