Maria De La Luz Perez Coleman, age 74, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Kingsville.
Born on November 13, 1950, in Kingsville, Maria was the daughter of Leopoldo Rodriguez Perez and Sophia Herrera. A proud lifelong resident of Kingsville, Maria dedicated many years of her life as a hardworking commercial laborer. She also worked for a time in maintenance at Celanese and at the NAS Kingsville Bowling Alley, where she was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality.
Maria had a deep love for plants and found joy in nurturing them. She was rarely seen without her cherished four-legged companion, "Baby," who brought her immense comfort and happiness. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a devoted Betty Boop collector, always adding to her colorful collection.
Maria was preceded in death by two sisters, Maria Perez Trevino and Maggie P. Cureton, and her brothers, Jimmy Santiago Perez and Gilberto Perez.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her children: daughters Sophia De La Fuente and Debra (Felix) Burciaga; sons, Isaac (Amanda) Trevino, Benjamin Trevino, and Pablo (Norma) Trevino; two sisters, Hortencia Perez Pina, and Victoria Perez Elizondo; and one brother, Polo Perez. Maria was a proud grandmother to Delilah, Gloriana, Cassandra, Jessica, Andres, Jose, Benjamin III, Michael, Karla, Felix, and Israel; and a great-grandmother to thirteen beautiful great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
