Maria C. Figueroa, 102½, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Corpus Christi. She was born on October 21, 1922, in Kingsville, Texas, to Daniel and Eliboria Covarrubias. Maria was a devoted housewife and the matriarch of her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Martin Catholic Church and cherished her traditions, especially celebrating Easter and painting cascarones with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alberto N. Figueroa; two sons, Daniel and Gilberto; four brothers, Daniel, Roque, and Jesus, Raul; and three sisters, Guadalupe, Estella, and Aurora.
Maria is survived by one daughter, Evangelina "Eva" C. Delgado; one son, Albert C. Figueroa Jr.; one sister, Teresa C. Kiefling; three grandchildren, Sandra, Sonia, and Daniel Albert; seven great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church, with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
