Luis M. Garcia, age 80, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2026, in his hometown.
Born on January 21, 1946, in Kingsville, Texas, to the late Enrique and Eloisa Garcia, Luis was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was deeply cherished by his family and community. A retired carpenter, Luis took pride in his work and in helping others. For more than 20 years, he dedicated his time to coaching and mentoring young athletes in the local youth baseball league. Through his guidance, encouragement, and genuine care for the children he coached, he touched the lives of many and created memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Luis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Longoria; three sisters; and three brothers.
He is survived by his two sons, Luis L. (Veronica) Garcia and Juan Manuel (Belinda) Garcia, both of Kingsville; one brother, Eddie Garcia; nine grandchildren, Christal, Amanda, Evelyn, Monica, Veronica, Richard, Luis, Bianca, and Gabriel; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Luis’s life on Thursday, September 10, 2026, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Alfredo Villarreal. Luis will be laid to rest at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Luis will be remembered for the lives he touched, the young people he mentored, and the love he shared with his family. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
