Leonardo V. Longoria, age 89, of Rivera, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2026, in Kingsville, Texas.
He was born on May 18, 1937, in Rivera, Texas, to Irineo and Jesusa Longoria. Leonardo was a retired farmer who dedicated his life to hard work and providing for his family. He was a loving man with a wonderful sense of humor who enjoyed joking around and bringing smiles to those around him. He loved singing, fishing, and working, and he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Soila G. Longoria; his parents, Irineo and Jesusa Longoria; his brothers, Adan Longoria, Rogelio Longoria, Tomas Longoria, and Irineo Longoria Jr.; one sister, Maria Guadalupe De La Rosa; two daughters, Maria Dalia Perez, and Maria Guadalupe Martinez.
Leonardo is survived by his loving family: four sons, Leonardo (Irma) Longoria Jr., Lionel (Lucia) Longoria, Eli (Juanita) Longoria, and Alonzo (Esther) Longoria; one daughter, Yolanda Montalvo; one brother, Israel V. Longoria; three sisters, Eva Jimenez, Anselma Berryhill, and Albesa Trevino; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, with Father Andy officiating. Burial will follow at Riviera Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Lonestar Ranch Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and to Kingsville Hospice, especially his special nurses, Sarah and Nicki, for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness during his final days.
Leonardo's legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
