Lamar Martinez Garcia, 71, of Kingsville, Texas peacefully passed away October 15, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1953, in Kingsville, Texas to Maclovio Lopez Garcia and Idolina Canales Garcia.
Lamar was an educator for 34 years. She retired as the Director of Federal Programs for the Kingsville Independent School District. She previously taught for the Kingsville, Driscoll, and Robstown School Districts. She earned a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Texas A&I University.
Lamar loved the arts, games, reading, baking and watching K-dramas. She will always be remembered for her beautiful soul, generosity, and caring heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maclovio and Idolina Garcia, her husband, Domingo Elizondo Garcia, her sister, Patricia Garcia Escobedo, and brother-in-law, Israel Garcia.
Survivors include her daughters, Monica Campos of Germany and Marissa (Jason) Lopresti of San Antonio; four step-children, Tina Garcia, Thomas (Mary) Garcia, John (Tracy) Garcia and Ruben Garcia; three sisters, Cecilia (Candelario) Huerta, Linda (Roberto) Escamilla and Carola (Ben) Serrato and her brother-in-law, Felipe Escobedo; her grandchildren, Danielle Campos, Gabriela Campos, Clarissa Campos, Thailese (Rodney) Hamby, Justin Portilla, Amanda (Joe) Matouk, Jessica (Kevin) Russell, Sarah Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Ethan Garcia, John Michael Garcia, Gage Garcia and Kerri Garcia; great grandchildren, Matthias Lopez, McKenzie and Camilla Hamby, Aria Portilla, Reyna Russell, and Kade; sisters-in-law, Berta (Juan) Ramirez, Sulema (Butch) Gonzalez, Emilia Hayes, Noelia (Joe) Steele and Delia Martinez, and brother-in-law, Johnny (Lillian) Garcia, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; her lifelong best friend, Dalia (Robert) Isassi and lastly, her beloved grand pups, Venice Campos and Sunny Lopresti.

A celebration of life will be held at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville, Texas on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Servando Torres officiating.
