Juanita R. Alvarez, 75, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in her hometown.
She was born on July 7, 1949 in Kingsville, Texas.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Juanita was the heart of her family — a strong, independent woman who embraced her role as the family matriarch with unwavering love and grace. A retired homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for others, always putting her family's needs above her own.
Juanita had a deep love for cooking and took great pride in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her kitchen was often filled with the rich aroma of homemade dishes and the joyful sounds of Tejano music — to which she loved to dance. Her warmth, laughter, and fierce loyalty will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Anthony Sandoval.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Marie Elizabeth (Michael) Cantu, Michelle Mireles, Melissa Ann (Rudy) Banegas, and Mercedes Sandoval, all of San Antonio; nine grandchildren — Alisa, Amanda, Sarah, Jenna, Rene, Layla, Jaime, Kimora, and Apollo; one sister; six brothers; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation will take place, and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements and care entrusted to Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
