Juan M. Vela, 70, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on September 24, 2017 in Kingsville, Texas.
He was born on January 13, 1947 in Kingsville, TX to Enrique and Margarita Vela.
He was a self-employed paint and body mechanic in the Kingsville area for many years, as well as a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ruben Vela; and one sister, Hermelinda Olivarez.
Survivors include two sons, Juan M. (Balbina) Vela Jr. of Kingsville; and Javier Vela of Kingsville; two brothers, Enrique Vela Jr. of La Mesa and Jose Martin Vela of Kingsville; one sister, Lupita Cruz of Taft; fiancé, Cecilia Cortez; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 09-27-2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, 09-27-2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 09-28-2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Naul Ordonez officiating.
Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
