Juan Porfirio Montez, a resident of Moore, Texas passed away February 8, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born on February 26, 1929 in Pleasanton, TX to Jose Maria and Maria De Jesus Montez.
He was retired from the Department of Agriculture, Soil and Water Conservation. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Moore, TX.
He was preceded in death by one son, Eluid Montez; his brother, Joe J. Montez; one sister, Elena Petra Montez.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elma G. Montez of Moore, TX; two sons, Eloy (Selma) Montez of Alice, TX, and Eden (Elizabeth) Montez of Cedar Creek, TX; one daughter, Edna (Quelfido) Martinez of Moore, TX; one sister, Maria De Jesus Montez of Pleasanton, TX; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, 02-12-2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, 02-12-2017, at 6:30 p.m. at Ramirez Salinas Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 02-13-2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Naul Ordonez officiating.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
