Juan Manuel Galvan, age 62, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1963, in Kingsville, Texas, to the late Jose Angel Galvan and Hermelinda Galvan.
A proud graduate of H.M. King High School in Kingsville, class of 1981, Juan was a loyal Brahmas fan who followed the football team throughout his life. Juan continued his education at Texas State Technical Institute in 1982. Over the years, he built a distinguished career and was trusted by many, working with King Ranch, Teledyne Exploration, Geotech as a freelance contractor, DWS International, TDI Brooks, and the City of Kingsville. Beyond his professional work, Juan devoted himself as a caregiver to his mother for the last ten years of her life, an act of love and dedication that defined his character.
Juan had a passion for travel and exploration, which was fulfilled during his career in the oil exploration industry. He visited more than 40 countries across the globe, including destinations in Africa, Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Malta. He also spent many years working throughout the United States, including assignments in, Alaska, Gulf of Mexico and East Coast. His adventures and camaraderie with peoples from around the world brought him joy and broadened his world view and these experiences he cherished deeply. He also enjoyed visiting and taking family trips to casinos where he loved playing slot machines, poker and other games, finding fun and excitement in the challenge and fellowship they offered.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jose Angel Galvan Jr.
Juan is survived by his brother, Jesus Javier Galvan of El Campo, and his sister, Lucy Marie Martinez (Gabriel Martinez) of San Antonio. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews: Matthew James Martinez, Christian Anthony Martinez, and Zachary Angel Martinez, all of San Antonio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. A Cremation will follow and a graveside service will take place at Las Latas Cemetery a later date.
