Juan P. Acuna Jr., 83, a lifelong resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on September 17, 2024, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on May 3, 1941, to Juan and Trinidad Acuna, Juan lived a life defined by faith, dedication, and love.
A proud and diligent worker, Juan spent his career as an aircraft mechanic supervisor at the Corpus Christi Army Depot (C.C.A.D.), where he was admired for his expertise and leadership. He was also a dedicated member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, where his deep faith inspired not only his family but also his community.
As the patriarch of the Acuna family, Juan was a man of great honor and integrity. He radiated warmth and care, always putting his family first, and was revered for his loving heart. His greatest joy was spending time with his large and growing family, sharing meals, stories, and laughter. He was a source of wisdom, strength, and unyielding support for all who knew him.
Juan is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Alicia R. Acuna, who was his steadfast companion through all of life's journeys. Together, they built a family of six children who carry forward his legacy: Norma Acuna of Kingsville, Texas, Leticia Acuna Riojas (Camilo) of Kingsville, Texas, Ricardo Acuna (Priscilla) of Arlington, Texas, Roland Acuna (Angela) of San Antonio, Texas, Juan Acuna III of Kingsville, Texas, and Ruben Acuna of Kingsville, Texas. He is also survived by his siblings, Evelinda Cisneros-Flores (Manuel) of Laredo, Gilbert Acuna (Angie) of Seguin, and Reynaldo "Shorty" Acuna (Julia) of Corpus Christi. Juan leaves behind 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Visitation will be held at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, officiated by Father Alfredo Villarreal. Juan will be laid to rest at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery.
Juan's family would like to extend their gratitude for the overwhelming love and support received during this difficult time. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
