Jovita M. Tapia, 75, of Bishop, TX passed away May 24, 2019, in Corpus Christi, TX.

She was born on August 28, 1943, in Bishop, Texas to parents Vicente and Juanita Marez.

She was a retired housemaker and also a member of St. James Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Tomas Tapia Jr. and three brothers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Diana T. Gonzalez and Sylvia Baldwin both of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, Tomas Tapia III of Bishop, Texas and Oscar Tapia of Palestine, Texas; one brother, Pablo Marez of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Andrea Perez of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tues., 05-28-2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Tues., 05-28-2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wed., 05-29-2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas, with Father John Xavier officiating.
Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
