Jovita C. Acevedo, 85, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on September 20, 2024, in Kingsville, Texas.
She was born on February 15, 1939, in Kingsville, Texas to Castello and Francisca Chavez.
Jovita was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to nurturing her family. A woman of deep faith, she found joy and fulfillment in spending cherished moments with her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Acevedo; three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include four sons, Antonio Acevedo Jr. of Frisco, Texas, Robert Acevedo of Riviera, David Acevedo of Riviera, and Freddy Acevedo of Kingsville; six daughters, Janie Cavazos of Bishop, Grace Acevedo of Kingsville, Mary Acevedo of Kingsville, June Acevedo (Michael) of Kingsville, Martina (Ruben) Perez of Kingsville, Anita Gonzales (Martin) of Alice, Texas; one sister, Margarita Reyes of Corpus Christi, Texas; thirty-nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Cremation will follow, and a Graveside Service will be held at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
