Jose Luis Lerma, age 76, of Bishop, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Born on February 28, 1949, in Kingsville, Texas, Jose lived a quiet and humble life, grounded in hard work and devotion to his family. He was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and generous heart. He was a loving uncle who never hesitated to step up when someone needed help—reliable, kind, and always willing to do what he could for others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Lerma and Paulina (Jose) Perez; his son, Jesus Lerma; three brothers, Elizandro Lerma, Jose Maria Perez, and Merecedes Perez; one sister, Maria Martinez; and his beloved granddaughter, Alexis Lerma.

Jose is survived by his sons, Jose Luis Lerma Jr., Joaquin Lerma, Sabino Lerma, Angel Lerma, and Luis Lerma; one daughter, Amber Lerma; his brother, Martin (Betty Joe) Perez; his sister, San Juanita (Jose) Reyes; and many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will always remember him with love and gratitude.

Visitation will be held on Friday, 08-08-2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Religious Service to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
