JOSÉ (BLACKIE) H. VALENZUELA, SR., age 80, of Kingsville entered eternal rest on June 13, 2019. Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, 230 East Ella Avenue in Kingsville. Services for Mr. Valenzuela will be held on Tuesday, June 18th at 1:00 p.m. Celebration of life will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 1430 Brookshire Street with interment to immediately follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Jose H. Valenzuela (Josephine), Gilbert Valenzuela (Nancy), Herman Valenzuela (Socorro), and his daughters, Audrey Marie Valenzuela and Jenny Valenzuela. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren:
Alexis, Amanda, Brittany, Daniella, Danniel Ray, Dante, Jalen, Jose Daniel, Josie Marie, Marco, and Mersadiez. He is also survived by David Valenzuela, a brother in every sense of the word.
Mr. Valenzuela is preceded in death by his wife, Endelia Garcia Valenzuela, his son, Daniel Valenzuela, his parents, Eulogio and Florita Valenzuela, brother, Ovidio Valenzuela, and sister, Celia Valenzuela Salazar.
Mr. Valenzuela served his country honorably as a serviceman in the United States Army. Mr. Valenzuela retired from the Kleberg County Sheriff's Department. Prior to that, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2623 and worked on many fundraising campaigns. He was an avid supporter of the Javelinas and the Texas Longhorns. He was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. His quick wit at making us laugh and keen sense of humor will be missed by all who love him.
"May the Angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs greet you at your arrival and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem." May you have eternal rest Dad until we meet again; you will live in our cherished memories.
