Jose S. "Coche" Mendez Jr. of Kingsville, TX died on June 29, 2014 in Kingsville, TX. He was 84.
He was born on April 11, 1930 to Mr. & Mrs. Jose (Beatriz) Mendez in King Ranch, Kingsville TX.
He was a retired mechanic with civil service and a U.S. Army Korean War Era Veteran. A member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church and an Honorary Member of the
Knights of Columbus Council #2623. He was born and raised in the King Ranch.
He was preceded in death by his son, Baby Raymond Mendez.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Belinda R Mendez of Kingsville. Five Daughters, Norma Porras of Houston, TX, Marianela Deanda and Marisela Chapa of Corpus Christi, TX, Laura Scriminger of Tulsa, OK and Lisa Mendez of Kingsville, TX. Six Sons, Carlos (Rosalinda) Mendez of San Antonio, TX, Mario (Maria) Mendez of Corpus Christi, TX, Arnold (Pricilla) Mendez of Alice, TX, Ronnie (Cynthia) Mendez of Kingsville, TX, Raymond (Michelle) Mendez of McAllen, TX and David "DJ" (Edda) Mendez of Harlingen, TX. Two Brothers, Jesus "La Chiva" Mendez of Kingsville and Ramon Mendez of Lockhart, TX. Three Sisters, Amalia Rios of Corpus Christi, TX, Ilia De la Paz of Riviera, TX and Ofelia Alaniz of Idaho. Thirty Grandchildren, Twenty-three Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church with Father Naul Ordonez officiating.
Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX
