Jimmy "J.D." Houston, 64, exchanged his earthly body for his heavenly one on January 15, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Kathy and children, Rebecca, Justin, Zachery (Allison), Joshua (Lezlee) Jacoby (Amanda), Jimmy Daniel, Kaitlyn, Mirella, Leonardo, Makayla, Joe Henry; 7 beloved grandchildren; and three brothers, Jerry Houston, Joe Houston, and Jeff Houston.
He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, spent many years raising and advocating for children in the foster care system, and loved teaching his children the art of carpentry.
He loved his Lord Jesus, and even though we will miss him terribly we are comforted knowing he is, as his youngest son put it, running around in heaven like a child.
A Memorial Service will be held on Fri., 01-18-2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Willoughby and Pastor Ronnie Robinson officiating.
