Jesusa G. "Jesusita" Rios, age 88, passed away on August 31, 2024, in her beloved hometown of Kingsville, Texas.
Born on February 18, 1936, in Benavides, Texas, Jesusita was the cherished daughter of Jesus Garza and Sofia Morin-Garza. Throughout her life, Jesusita embodied resilience and grace. She devoted herself to her family as a homemaker while also holding various jobs that highlighted her strong work ethic. A true spirit of joy, she found delight in simple pleasures—spending time at the maquinitas and dancing were among her favorite pastimes.
Jesusita was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is now reunited with her husband, Jesus Rios; her son, Jerry Lee Rios; her sisters, Maria Olivia Salazar and Odilia Ruiz; and her brother, George Garza, all of whom preceded her in death.
Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her surviving family: her daughter, Linda Mae Wall; her sons, James (Dana) Rios, Luis Arnoldo Rios, Charles Edward Rios, Alvin Ray (SueAnn) Rios, and Jeffrey Duke (Shelly) Rios; her twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Memorial Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Paulson officiating.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
