Jesus V. Amaya Sr., 82, a resident of Kingsville, TX died on October 10, 2014 in Corpus Christi, TX.
He was born on July 2, 1932 in Kingsville, TX to Manuel and Luz Amaya.
He was a retired truck driver, and a member of St. Martins Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother; Joe Amaya Sr., and two sisters, Maria Betancourt, and Mini Cortez.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Alice Amaya of Kingsville; four daughters, Mary Louise Bailey of Austin, Texas, Lynda (David) Fowler of Elgin, Texas, Irene (Darren) Jackson of Buda, Texas, and Gloria Ann Amaya of Pflugerville, Texas; two brothers, Jesus Amaya Jr. of Rockport, Texas, and Lionel Amaya of Kingsville, Texas; two step-sons, Mark (Laura) Suban of New York, Warren (Mellissa) Sykes of Kingsville, Texas; one step-daughter, Amelia Stewart of Enterprise, Mississippi, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, 10-13-2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A rosary was held Monday, 10-13-2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, 10-14-2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church with Pastor Naul Ordonez officiating.
Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
