Obituary

Jaime Omar Gonzalez, 35, of Kingsville, TX gained his wings on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Kingsville, TX after a two and a half year battle with renal (kidney) cancer.
He was born on July 26, 1985 in Kingsville, TX to David Gonzalez and Noelia Cavazos Gonzalez.
Jaime was an avid sportswriter and would cover the South Texas area. He enjoyed reading all genres. He loved watching all the sports on TV, especially the Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, but his all-time favorite was the Houston Astros. He had also predicted that they would win the World Series 2017, in which they did. He was very knowledgeable when it came to any sports statistics. Jaime also liked watching wrestling, where he attended several WrestleMania events. Jaime graduated from H.M. King Class of 2003. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and H.M. King Marching Band. He was also a lector for St. Martin Catholic Church. Jaime was a 2014 TAMUK graduate with a BA in communications and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arturo "Curley" (Paula) Gonzalez, and maternal grandparents, Daniel G. (Irma M.) Cavazos Jr.; two uncles, Daniel Cavazos III, and Joe Cavazos; and one aunt, Cynthia Q. Cavazos.
Survivors include his parents, David (Noelia) Gonzalez of Kingsville; one brother, Javier Gonzalez (Krystle); one sister, Melissa Gonzalez (Andrew); two nephews, Christian Gonzalez, and Aaron Infante; three nieces, Ameli and Adriana Gonzalez, and Melanie Infante; and several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Javier Gonzalez, Christian Gonzalez, Andrew Infante, Jose Daniel (J.D.) Cavazos, Andre Ortiz, Adrian Ortiz, and Marcus Salinas. Honorary Pallbearer will be Aaron Infante (Nephew/Godson).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church Father Alfredo Villarreal.
Burial will follow at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery.
