It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Isabel Garcia De La Paz, age 68, of Ricardo, Texas.
Born on November 23, 1956, in Kingsville, Texas, to Domingo and Maria Alicia Garcia, she devoted 30 years of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Kleberg County Nursing Home. Her unwavering compassion and dedication to those in her care left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Outside of work, she had many hobbies. Her passion was gardening, cooking, baking, and tending to her fur babies. On any given day, you could find her outside planting a new find & watering the old.
Just as busy indoors, she loved the holidays. Her need for feeding those she loved was evident in her cooking and baking. Best known for her tamales, momma made them for friends and family every year.
Family was everything to momma. Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren, her pride and joy. She was a wonderful mother, but moreover, an exceptional grandmother. She spent every moment she could with them, making everlasting memories.
A book could be written about this remarkable woman, whose heart of gold touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the epitome of selflessness, always giving of herself without hesitation or expectation. She will be immensely missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Maria Alicia Garcia; her brothers, Alberto Garcia, Domingo Garcia Jr., and Victor Garcia; and her dear grandson, Sgt. Juan Muniz III.
She is dearly survived by her children, Irma (James) Harrison of Odessa, Lisa Figueroa of Kingsville, Jessie De La Paz (Regina Cisneros) of Kingsville, Mizzell De La Paz of Odessa, Larry (Jessica) De La Paz of Ricardo, and Jason De La Paz (Nikki Rodriguez) of Ricardo; her siblings, Melinda (Mario) Morales, Pedro (Beatrice) Garcia, and Melissa (Mert) Menifee, all of Kingsville. A proud grandmother to twenty-three grandchildren, she made each one feel truly unique and deeply loved. Her heart swelled with joy as she was also blessed to embrace and hold all three of her great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
The family invites everyone to join them for a luncheon following the funeral service. It will be held at 1908 E. Kenedy, Kingsville, Texas, where they can gather in remembrance and share stories in honor of their beautiful momma.
