Irma L. Garcia was born on September 26, 1959 in Kingsville, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Herminio C. and Consuelo M. Lopez. She entered into eternal rest and peace in the presence of our Lord on March 29, 2025 at the age of 65. She was a hardworking and very loving mom, grandma "Mamaw", sister, Auntie and a friend to everyone who knew her. She served our Lord, sang praises and blessed us with beautiful memories and a legacy that we will cherish forever. During her lifetime, she walked in faith, brought joy to her loved ones, and had a strong will to survive and succeed.
Irma dedicated more than 35 years as a retail store associate and beauty consultant for Eckerd's now known as CVS. She helped shape a friendly and helpful customer experience with every interaction, and by sharing the latest beauty trends by providing expert consultation all while making them feel good from the inside out. Through her warm and caring personality, Irma fostered many long lasting friendships and was best known as 'the pretty lady at CVS with the long black hair'.
A 1978 graduate of H.M. King High School, Irma played trumpet and was a twirler in the Brahma Band and attended Texas A&I University. Some of her favorite activities that brought her much joy were dancing (especially to George Strait songs), zumba, cooking, the outdoors and crafting. Irma was blessed with a caring, creative, artistic soul. She loved to create meaningful, priceless gifts by hand that were a reflection of her warm, thoughtful, beautiful heart.
Two of her most noticeable and beautiful characteristics were her contagious smile and her lighthearted, witty sense of humor. She enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Family Feud and Little House On The Prairie. Her laughter always filled the room and had a way of bringing joy and light to everyone she encountered. Even as her body grew weak, she enjoyed listening to praise and worship music, playing the tambourine and spending time with her sons, grandkids, family, caregivers, and friends.
Irma was incredibly proud of her sons, Justin and Jeremy, who both earned their degrees from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She wholeheartedly supported and encouraged them throughout their academic journeys, always working tirelessly to help them reach their goals. Her dedication and love for them was unwavering, and she found immense joy in witnessing and celebrating their accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her caring loving parents, Herminio C. and Consuelo M. Lopez. Left to cherish her precious memories are her sons Justin Ray (Kim) Garcia and Jeremy Richard Garcia of Kingsville; two grandchildren, Julien Ray and Elahnia Mae Garcia; sister Glenda Ruth (Simon) Saavedra of Riviera and brother Robert M (Bobby) Lopez of Laredo. Nieces Connie Ruth (David) Garcia and children David Hugo III, Roselyn Ruth, Livia Fe, Abigail Lillian of Odem; Crystal Saavedra, and children Grace Marie and Ezekiel Norberto Del Bosque of Kingsville; nephew Joseph Simon (Sandy) Saavedra and son Logan Joseph of Kyle, Texas.
