Hipolito T. Falcon, 85, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, with his daughter by his bedside at the Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on March 25, 1939, in Kingsville, he was the cherished son of the late Hipolito Q. and Juanita T. Falcon.
Hipolito's life was marked by hard work, dedication, and an infectious zest for life. For 18 years, he was a dedicated employee of Kroger's, where he formed lifelong friendships before choosing early retirement. Not one to stay idle, Hipolito continued to serve his community by joining the Kingsville Independent School District (K.I.S.D.) as a custodian. His many years of service at K.I.S.D. were characterized by his warm smile, tireless work ethic, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him.
Beyond his work, Hipolito found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a master at the grill, known for his delicious barbeques that brought family and friends together. A man who appreciated the finer things, he enjoyed a cold beer, spending quiet moments in his garden, and cherishing the companionship of his beloved dog, "Killer."
Hipolito was also a hands-on, loving grandfather, the kind who made every moment with his grandchildren memorable. His sense of humor was legendary, and he was notorious for his playful pranks, always with a twinkle in his eye. A kid at heart, Hipolito's favorite pastimes growing up included fishing, hunting, and engaging in spirited water balloon fights with his nieces and nephews, who adored him and fondly regarded him as their favorite uncle.
To those who knew him, Hipolito was more than just a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend—he was a pillar of love, laughter, and kindness. He embodied the true meaning of family, always putting others before himself, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hilda M. Falcon, and his five brothers, Enrique Falcon, Samuel Falcon, Andres Falcon, Valentin Falcon, and Aurelio Falcon.
Hipolito is survived by his last surviving brother, Roberto T. (Ofelia) Falcon; his loving children, daughter Elizabeth Lee Falcon, and sons Pedro Falcon and Cristobal A. (Marilee) Salinas; and his treasured grandchildren, Miranda L. (Heather N.) Herrera, Judith Y. Blea, Caitlyn, Cassidy, and Cristina. He also leaves behind three precious great-grandchildren, Juliana LeAnn Vela, Jaylon Dex Vela, and Kai Paredes, along with a plethora of loving nieces, and nephews whom always have true respect for him, and a community that will forever remember him with fondness.
A private service in honor of Hipolito T. Falcon will be held at a later date, allowing family and close friends to gather and celebrate his life in a more intimate setting.
Arrangements are under the compassionate care of Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
