Hilda Figueroa, 65, of Bishop, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in her hometown.
Born on May 18, 1960, in Alice, Texas, Hilda was the beloved daughter of the late Vicente Figueroa and Virginia Martinez Figueroa. A lifelong resident of South Texas, she was a familiar and friendly face in the Bishop community, having worked for over 15 years at Circle K and Stop and Shop.
Hilda was known for her quick wit, generous heart, and deep love for animals—her "fur babies" were truly her children. She found joy in reading and had a curious mind, often spending hours tinkering with electronics. Occasionally, and much to her delight, she even managed to get the VCR working again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Virginia Figueroa; her brother, Juan Martinez; two uncles; and one aunt.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted siblings: Remigio (Nora S.) Figueroa, Maria "Margie" Figueroa, Victor Figueroa, and Alfredo (Irma) Figueroa; two aunts: Anselma "Chemy" Martinez and Higinia Sanchez; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will remember her with love and fondness.
A cremation will take place, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
