Herlinda Naranjo Guerrero, 77, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 24, 2023. She was born on June 22, 1946, to Adalberto and Berta Rivas Naranjo.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Linda's joyful smile radiated beauty. She is described as strong, courageous, and quick-witted. She took on many roles and responsibilities during her lifetime. Her journey led her to positions in the local school district and hospital as well as a caregiver until she became disabled. Linda was one of the eldest siblings and was a constant source of support for her family. Her life experiences afforded her the ability to provide guidance to many. In addition, she was an avid reader who, at times, was reading two novels of different genres simultaneously. She was fascinated with nature and the universe. She never turned down a challenge to continue to expand her knowledge of various topics that were of interest to her. She also loved to play card games with her friends.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Adalberto "Tongo" Naranjo, Jr., Alma Naranjo, and Elva Naranjo Garcia. Among those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Andres Hernandez; her brother, Jesus (Elia) Naranjo, and sisters, Gloria (Garey †) Berry and Yvonne "Bonnie" Naranjo. Her grandchildren, Andres (Morgan) Hernandez, Erika (Albert Pena) Hernandez, and Mario Hernandez were the light of her life. Linda also had six great-grandchildren, Lily, Logan, Scarlett, Fenix, Keara, and Eden as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
To honor her life, the family will receive condolences beginning at 8 a.m. on January 3, 2024, at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville, Texas. A rosary is to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A committal service will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her parents and sisters. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the CVICU at Christus-Spohn Shoreline and Dr. Milton Beato of Christus-Spohn Kleberg for the attention and care provided to her during the final weeks of her life.
