Frances Maria Kunkel, age 88, of Kingsville, Texas passed away August 23, 2026, in Victoria, Texas.

Frances was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and later migrated to the United States, where she became a U.S. citizen.

Frances worked for many years as a chef at El Jardin Restaurant in Kingsville, Texas. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated herself to her family.

Frances had a green thumb and loved being outdoors, tending to her flowers and fruit trees.

She leaves behind a loving family who loved her immensely until the end.

She will be greatly missed, but her family will always cherish the many wonderful memories they shared with her and will never forget her. Until we meet again. Fly high Mom, sing " DINGA LINGA LINGA DINGA LINGA LINGA!"

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Herman Kunkel; daughter, Mary Beth Kunkel; and son, Billy Kunkel.

Frances leaves behind her children, Kathy Henrikson (Rick), Linda Baham (Michael), and Richard Kunkel (Tina); four grandchildren, Audrey Alvarez, Tiffany Aguilar (Thomas), Heather Prosen (Austin), and Aaron Alvarez. Frances also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriella Aguilar, and Maeve Prosen.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
