Evangelina Cabrera Marroquin, 93, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on June 10, 2023, in Kingsville, Texas.
She was born May 22, 1930, in Kingsville, Texas to Brigido and Antonia Garza Cabrera.
Mrs. Marroquin spent a total of 17 years working as a salesclerk, spending five years employed with C.R. Anthony and 12 years employed with Levine's Department Store. Her most prestigious place of employment was at the Kleberg County Hospital where she spent 24 years as a hospital dietitian. Mrs. Marroquin was a member of the Acuarela Club, as well as a charter member of the Columbian Ladies. She was a faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Marroquin is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Marroquin Sr.; one son, Johnny Marroquin Jr.; six brothers, Edmundo, Emilio, Eduardo, Esequiel, Eloy, and Edelmiro Cabrera; and three sisters, Ernestina Guerra, Ester Gomez, and Elia Meza.
Evangelina is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marroquin Vasquez of Kingsville; six grandchildren, Monica Ramirez, Melanie (Michael) Yarbrough, Marlena (Omar) Alvarez, Marc (Mari) Marroquin, Edward (Roxanne) Vasquez, and Elaine Vasquez; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church, with a Rosary at 10:15 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating.
A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
