Eva Angelina P. Peña, 94, a lifelong resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 11, 1930, to the late Ascension and Francisca Palacios, Eva lived a life filled with faith, joy, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.
She was the beloved founder of Summer Snow, a cherished local spot where generations of families gathered to enjoy a sweet treat and a warm smile. Her love for spreading happiness extended beyond her business—Eva was a proud member of the International Clowns Association, where she became known as Snowy the Clown, delighting children with her playful spirit and kind heart.
A devout member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Eva dedicated much of her life to serving others through her faith. She was a devoted CCD teacher and a Eucharistic Minister, always eager to share her love for God and her community. Her kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family were the guiding forces of her life.
Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ovidio Peña; her beloved son, Daniel E. Peña; her grandson, Patrick A. Peña; and her great-grandson, Joseph O. Moore.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children: Patricia Mendez, Estella Peña, Martha Peña, and Victoria Peña; eleven cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth, Frank, Matthew, Amy, Sarah, Nathan, Erica, Dani, Briana, Christian, and Aaron; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will continue to carry her love in their hearts.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Father Alfredo Villarreal.
Following her wishes, cremation will take place, and a Graveside Service will be held at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
