Ernestina "Tina" C. Grubb, 78, of Kingsville, TX passed away on December 18, 2016 in Kingsville, TX.
She was born on August 15, 1938 in Kingsville, TX to Pablo and Teresa Corona.
Our beloved mother crossed over the rainbow surrounded by her family & friends at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Kingsville after struggling to regain her strength due to countless major surgeries.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Longoria Garza, her father, Pablo Corona, her husband, Jesse E. Grubb, and one child, Paul Grubb.
She was instrumental in helping so many people in the NA/AA 12 step program. She also worked in the counseling field for several years.
Mom loved to cook, bake, and always opened her doors to many to join our table at any time. She loved to garden & and care for her plants.
Mom made friends very easily and was loved by many people throughout the world.
She was quick witted and was always making us laugh. She will be missed greatly by all.
She is survived by one sister, Teresa C. Garcia of Kingsville; two daughters, Anna L. Akridge of Kingsville, and Mel Juarez of Waco; three sons, Manuel Juarez of Kingsville, Alberto & Sonny (Betty) Juarez of Waco; nine grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren; two nieces, Edna Garcia of San Antonio, and Karen (Ray) Salazar of Bishop; and many nieces and nephews & family in Kansas.
Three people she took under her wing as her own are Dr. Gilbert Garcia Jr. of San Antonio, Tyra Lewis of Waco, and Ellyn Kerwin Ramos of Kingsville.
Visitation will be held on Wed., December 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thurs., December 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
We, the family, would like to thank countless Doctors in Waco and also the staff at Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville & Altus Hospice for their love and care shown to our mom, and for treating her with upmost respect.
