Elma Celia Hernandez, 62, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on May 3, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in her hometown.
She graced the world with her presence on January 7, 1962, born to Tomas and Maria Hernandez, and Kingsville was forever enriched by her warmth and kindness.
Elma dedicated herself to her work, serving as a manager at Diamond Shamrock. Yet, her true passion lay in her unwavering faith and the love she poured into her family and community. A fixture at church gatherings, she found solace and joy in the company of her loved ones, often taking to the dance floor with infectious enthusiasm at family celebrations.
In every interaction, Elma radiated genuine care and interest in others. Her boundless spirit and welcoming nature endeared her to all who crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Esteban Hernandez, whose memory she cherished dearly.
Elma leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her three cherished sons: Abel (Monica) Contreras Jr., Marcos Contreras, and Michael Dean (Angelica) Contreras, all of Bishop. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Tomas (Thelma) Hernandez Jr. and Joe Henry Hernandez, her sister, Sandra Quintanilla (Danny Mendietta), and her sister-in-law, Cylinda Hernandez.
Her adoration extends to her nine grandchildren: Gabriella, Michael Dean II, Chloe, Abby, Bobby, Jayden, Kaleb, Bryce, Jeslyn, and her great-grandson, Armani. Additionally, she is mourned by several aunts and uncles, along with countless cousins, nieces, and nephews, all touched by her radiant spirit.
While our hearts ache with her passing, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love she bestowed upon us. Though she may no longer dance among us, her spirit will forever light our way.
Vistiation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery.
