Edna B. Mireles, age 67, a beloved resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Kingsville, TX. She was born on June 8, 1956, in Alice, Texas, to the late Jose and Antonia Benavidez.
Edna dedicated her career to education, serving as a retired teacher's aide with K.I.S.D. Her commitment to shaping young minds left a lasting impact on the community she cherished.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Mireles Jr; her brother, Ramiro Suarez; her son, Daniel Mireles; and her grandson, Oscar R. Castellanos. Edna leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Survivors include her two daughters, Laura Castellanos, and Sonia (Carlos) Cortez; two sons, Ramiro Mireles (Rosalina) and David Lee (Amber) Mireles; her sister, Maria Villarreal; two brothers, Jose Hilario (Maria) Benavidez and Hector (Sulema) Gonzalez. Edna also played a nurturing role in the lives of her three grandchildren, Melody, Margarita, and Jessiah, as well as several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on the same day at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
Following the Rosary, a Cremation will take place, and a private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Edna B. Mireles will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
