Christina Arredondo passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She was born April 30, 1948 in Kingsville, Texas to Manuel and Aurora Tijerina. After a joyous courtship, she married the love of her life, Mike Arredondo on November 22, 1969 in Corpus Christi, TX. They built a wonderful life together in Dallas and were blessed with two wonderful children.
Throughout her life, Mom worked to make the world a better place. She completed her bachelor degree at Texas Woman's University and committed her life to the betterment of her family and community. She was a caring and affectionate mother, wife, and sister. She always filled the lives of her family with love and put their well being before her own. When Dad fell ill, she devoted herself to his care and comfort.
Mom actively volunteered in her children's schools, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Girl Scouts, her neighborhood association, and helped provide warmth and care for newborns and the sick. She enjoyed nature and loved beautifying her yard. She had a soft heart for animals and would help them whenever possible.
Mom's warmth and kindness will be remembered by her friends and family. Her spirit will be forever carried by her favorite daughter, Tessa, and her favorite son, Michael. She deeply loved and cared for her brothers and sisters: Grace (Valdemar) Delgado, Roma Anita (Abel) Gonzalez, Rosa (Basil) Granato, Amparo (Frank) Montoya, Irma (Romero) Saenz, Humberto (Rose) Tijerina, Manuel (Doreen) Tijerina, Ramon (Sandra) Tijerina, her departed sister Consuelo (Marcus) Perez and her sister in laws Mary Lou Garza (David) and Yolanda (Julian) Arredondo.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday January 25, 2018 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville, TX. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Kingsville, TX. Inurnment will follow.
